From the Field to Frequencies to Future Tech
My path to teaching coding through music began long before I stepped into a classroom. As a highly decorated collegiate athlete, I was already breaking records on the field while spinning records in the DJ booth. My passion for music and DJing started in high school, running parallel with my athletic achievements and eventually leading to the NFL.
As technology transformed the DJ landscape, I found myself diving deeper into the technical side of music production. What started as learning computer skills to stay current as a DJ evolved into a fascination with coding. The transition was natural – the same pattern recognition that made me successful in sports and music became the foundation for understanding programming.
Today, I combine these three powerful elements – athletic discipline, musical creativity, and coding expertise – to create a unique learning experience. I teach students that coding, like sports and music, is about rhythm, patterns, and practice. This approach doesn't just teach programming; it builds confidence, creativity, and technical skills that last a lifetime.
